Write. Revisit.
Master.

Slate transforms your studying into an intelligent cycle. Create questions and flashcards, organize by subject, and review at the exact moment you are about to forget — never too early, never too late.

More than flashcards. A complete study hub.

Slate goes far beyond memorization cards. It was designed for the real way students prepare for exams, entrance tests, and public examinations.

Intelligent Spaced Repetition

The SuperMemo-2 algorithm calculates the exact moment for each review based on your performance. Not too early (you still remember), not too late (you already forgot). At the sweet spot of the forgetting curve.

Multiple Question Types

Multiple-choice, multiple-answer, and essay. Slate understands that each subject demands a different assessment format — and provides all three.

PDF Import

Import question sets directly from PDF files of past exams. Slate automatically extracts the text and organizes everything for you.

Customizable Collections

Create dynamic collections (filtered by subject, topic, or tag) or manual ones (drag questions one by one). You decide what to review.

Math Rendering

Formulas rendered with KaTeX. Perfect for STEM, engineering, and medical students who need precise mathematical notation in questions.

Privacy & Control

Your data lives on your computer by default — you decide what happens to it. Study offline anywhere, no internet required, and keep full control over your information.

Complete Organization

Subjects, topics, institutions, tags, and custom parameters. Slate adapts to your mental framework, not the other way around.

Progress Dashboard

Clear metrics: pending questions, daily reviews, progress by subject. You always know exactly where you stand and what to do next.

The forgetting curve exists. Slate exists to beat it.

In 1885, German psychologist Hermann Ebbinghaus made a discovery that would forever change how we understand memory: we forget what we learn following a predictable curve. Over a century later, Slate turns that discovery into a practical tool for your studies.

Spaced repetition is not a coaching technique — it is cognitive science with over 100 years of experimental evidence. In the 1980s, Polish researcher Piotr Wozniak took the next big step: he created SuperMemo, the first computer algorithm capable of calculating the optimal moment to review each piece of information. Each time you review content at the right moment, the memory consolidates and the interval until the next review increases exponentially — from hours to days, from days to weeks, from weeks to months.

Most study apps treat review as an infinite list of flashcards to flip through. Slate treats review as an adaptive cycle: each question you get right or wrong recalibrates the algorithm, adjusting future intervals to your actual learning pace.

The result? You spend more time studying what you actually need — and less time reviewing what you already know. This is real efficiency, not gamification.

The Slate cycle

01

Create

Enter questions from past exams, mock tests, or create your own. Import PDFs or type manually — Slate organizes everything automatically by subject, topic, and tags.

02

Organize

Group questions into smart collections. Filter by institution, by subject, by specific topic, or by any combination of tags and parameters.

03

Review

Enter active review mode. Answer each question, see the answer key immediately, and rate your performance from 1 to 4. The algorithm recalibrates the next interval instantly.

04

Consolidate

Over time, intervals between reviews increase — from hours to days, from days to weeks, from weeks to months. Knowledge takes hold in long-term memory permanently.

Simple. Transparent. Free.
